Screen Printing Specialty Inks
You can make your designs unforgettable with these specialty inks. Some specialty inks cost more than standard inks. None of them are recommended for uniforms since uniforms tend to undergo heavy wear and tear.
Glow-In-The-Dark InkSpecial effect printing can be done with glow in the dark ink, which glows brightly when the lights are out. It is a transparent ink with a long life span. This ink can be used on almost every color of shirt and has a light greenish tint. You can use the ink in its transparent state, or print on white or another light color to give you a great special effect ink. Looks fantastic in black light.
Use special effect printing glow-in-the-dark inks on products for night events or concerts.
Sparkle InkSpecial effect printing can also be done with yellow sparkle. This special effect ink has dry flake glitter mixed with an ink, to produce subtle sparkle effects with high gloss and excellent durability. Sparkle can be applied to any regular ink color. Sparkle ink reflects in the sunlight and is a great way to add texture to any design using special effect printing. Sparkle can be added to clear gel and applied on top of your design.
Sparkle holds its sparkle with every washing, so you will not lose the luster of this special effect ink.
Glitter InksSimilar to Sparkle Ink, glitters are like car paints that have actual bits of glitter in the ink. The glitter chips are large and thus require a screen with a low number of threads woven into it. This means that glitter designs are best used in large flat shapes within your design.
Metallic and Shimmer InksMetallic and shimmer inks come in both silver and gold. These inks include glitters and shimmers, formulated to produce dramatic effects with excellent durability. They are a reflective ink with a smooth texture.
Metallics look more like metal than shimmers, however shimmers will last longer than metallic inks. Ask your sales person to show you samples of both.
Puffy InkPuffy ink is raised 3-D ink that feels puffy. When printed it expands upwards and outwards in all directions. Set up and printing for this ink costs more than standard inks.
High Density InkSimilar to Puffy ink, High Density is raised 3-D ink. It expands upwards only. It can be used to create dramatic effects. Set up and printing for this ink costs more than standard inks.
Suede InkSuede ink is slightly raised and mimics the feel of real suede. This comes in a beige color.
Clear Gel InkGel ink has a smooth, wet look. It is clear and any garment or ink color under it will show through. Clear gel ink gives dimension to any design. It is great for creating the impression of wet raindrops on a design.
Fluorescent InksFluorescents come in several different colors (red, orange, yellow, fuschia, blue, green), and work best on either white garments or on a white Underprint. Fluorescents look fantastic under black light. These are the brightest inks you can use.
